A Study on Lysozyme Activity in the Knee Joint Fluid

Abstract
|
|
|
This is the quantitative study on tle concentration of the lysozyme in the knee joint fluid of 54 subjects.´ among which 20 cases were normal Korean male and female. 15 cases_ of rheumatoid arthritis of the knee. and the remain 15 cases of degenerative arthritis of the knee.
The results obtained were as follows:
1. In the normal 80 subjects. the synovial concentration of lysozyme was found to be variable from 8.40 to 9.00 ug/ml with the average of 8.69
2. In the subjects with rheumatoid arthritis. the value ranged from 10. ZO to 11.00 gJml with the average of 10. 75pg/ml.. and it seemed. to be valuable as a diagnostic procedure of the disease.
3. In the subjects with degenerative arthritis. the enzyme level was varied from 10. 80 to 1230 Pg/ml with the average 11.66pg/ml, but for this condition further study~sbould to be done for the evaluation of diagnostic values.
